Faced with the unprecedented challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, Habitat for Humanity is making difficult decisions in order to protect the health of our staff, volunteers, homeowners and the communities in which we build. Effective March 13, 2020, we closed all of all building job sites, ReStore and warehouse operations to our volunteers and homeowner families until further notice.
Typically, volunteers account for some 60% of our labor costs, so this decision will be a significant financial strain. Despite being unable to build with volunteers, we are proceeding with two of the planned home sites off Bonita Beach Road using paid contractors. Now more than ever, we need the continued support of the Bonita Bay community to be able to continue providing quality, affordable housing in Bonita Springs. Please give as much as you are able, as often as you are able, to help us accomplish this mission.
